FAQs

Can I add more Authors to my account?

We can set up your account to have any number of authors you would like. The cost for each additional authorized user above your plan limit is $19/month.

You are allowed an unlimited number of Reader and API Access users. These are users who view content on your ScreenSteps Live site but can’t create lessons.

What are Spaces?

Spaces are like mini-websites you create to deliver your documentation. For each space on your account you control:

  • Who has access to the Space (anyone or only certain users)
  • What the Space looks like (each space can use its own custom template)

You can add additional spaces above your plan limit at the cost of $10/space/month.

What is a Lesson Package?

A Lesson Package is a powerful way to share and update ScreenSteps lessons in your organization. Say for example you are in your office in New York and post a lesson to ScreenSteps Live. Two weeks later your partner in Chicago needs to update that lesson. He can open up ScreenSteps Desktop Pro, import the package and he will have all of the original material that you used to create the lesson just as if he had created it himself. You never have to worry about who has the most current version of the lesson because it is always on ScreenSteps Live.

What is Remote Authentication?

Remote authentication allows you to authenticate readers to view your content using your own user management system or a third party user management system. For example, we have pre-built solutions that allow you to manage your readers in WordPress or Salesforce.

Who can view my content?

That is up to you. Make your content public and anyone can view it. Make it private and you will control who views it. We have viewer authentication options that range very simple and fast to implement to more robust and secure. Just choose the option that best fits your needs.

Do I also have to purchase a ScreenSteps Desktop Pro license?

No. A ScreenSteps Desktop Pro license is included for each author on your account.

Are there discounts if I already own a ScreenSteps Desktop license?

Yes! If you have already purchased a ScreenSteps Desktop Standard or Pro license you can receive a one time discount of $9 for a Standard License or $19 for a Pro License. Just contact us after you have created your account and we will apply the discount.

What browsers are supported?

Any modern browser can be used to view ScreenSteps Live Lessons so your content is as accessible as possible. Currently Internet Explorer 7 or above, Firefox, Safari and Chrome are supported for management of your ScreenSteps Live content.
